This is the 2nd birthday celebration that he's missing this year but since it's his dad's birthday, he chipped in with suggestions and had me assist to pull it off.
We went through a few restaurants and settled on Frangipani... Normally the prices are rather steep, but they had a promotion with set lunches so the bill was brought back down to earth. We also remembered the ambience to be great from when we last visited a few years back, so this was an easy choice. However as this time we went for lunch, we were seated in the wine room instead of the restaurant itself.
We loved it! The other thing was that they were having a buffet thing the next day, so most people opted to give the set lunch a miss; we were the only patrons at that time! It was like we booked the entire place for a private do... that's so cool!
Since hubby was not around to order, I had to take charge and do the ordering. As we were there for set lunch, I just did the quick and smart thing and ordered all 3 sets on the menu for papa, mom and YW to share, haha... As for myself I picked and chose la...

Then came the dilemma of what to order for the girls. I realised then that most of the items on the menu do not suit them, so I checked with the waiter if they had anything else. He was kind enough to check with the kitchen and long story short, they ended up cooking a special dish for the girls. I was really impressed at the level of service.

I also ordered juice for the girls as I was thinking of letting them enjoy as well. Strange thing was we adults only had warm water. I thought papa would order a glass of wine but he did not. I guess lunch is just not a time we would drink...
The food was great and everyone liked the place. To top it all off, we brought a durian cheesecake which we had specially ordered from outside to celebrate, and it was superb. At the end of the meal, we were all satisfied and happy, and that included the little girls!
